They joined BMA — here's their story

My biggest fear wasn't getting started. It was that someone in my family would stumble across it. Right from the start, the team explained how they protected my identity: a different name, personal details never exposed, a clear confidentiality strategy, and above all no judgment. What reassured me was that they also told me about the right to be forgotten and the option to take content down if one day I wanted to disappear from this world entirely. Today I feel much more in control. I know my anonymity is taken seriously.

Before I started, my fear was being locked into something. I wanted to know if I could stop whenever I wanted. They were clear: the accounts stay mine, my image stays mine, and I can decide to stop. Nothing was presented to me as a prison. Knowing I could leave if I no longer felt aligned reassured me enormously. In the end, it was precisely because I knew I was free that I had the confidence to start.

I had a real concern about messages. I didn't want just anyone to have access to my personal conversations or private information. They explained that everything was kept separate: the workspaces, the access rights, the guidelines, and what the team can and cannot see. The chatters aren't there to dig into my life. They work on a defined scope, with rules, a structure, and limits. It reassured me to understand that this wasn't some vague system where everyone sees everything.
